Are Tinned Foods Really Unhealthy? The BPA Question

Are tinned foods really unhealthy? For us city dwellers especially, tinned food is practical, tasty and a lifesaver of a meal when there is nothing ready to eat.

But there is a substance used in the inner lining of tins: bisphenol A. It can cause hormonal imbalances or sensitivity in the gut barrier.

So, as with everything, choices matter when picking tinned food too: you can use food preserved in glass jars, or check the product information and choose tins that do not contain bisphenol A.
